27 weeks!

Hard to believe that I am already 27 weeks along. Looking forward to meeting Mr. Zion each day! Greg and I can't help but imagine how special our life will be with him in it, we seem to be trying to picture him hanging out with us and imagine what it will be like to be his parents. Such a special time that I know we will look back to with such fondness.

We leave for a big adventure tomorrow. Zion may not have left the womb yet, but already he will have traveled to three countries! Back in early June Greg and I thought it would be fun to plan a trip for just the two of us. So many of our overseas trips, while fun and exciting are spent planning and working long hours with a team. Tomorrow we leave for a trip to Italy. I can't wait! This will actually be our first overseas trip for a vacation! We will be ministering in a church or two- but for the most part we are going to drive around the Tuscan countryside and see where the wind takes us! I'm sure we will have a few fun posts along the way so you will have to check back for more.

4D Ultra sound

Last Saturday we went to Tulsa's Baby Bump to get a 4D ultra sound of little Zion. I highly recommend getting one and I definitely recommend (if you are in Tulsa) going to Baby Bump. On our first visit we actually didn't get to see little Zion's face. The girl at baby bump was so sweet she scheduled another visit for us a week later. Next week he made his big appearance. The 4d ultra sounds are very cool, but aren't 100% clear. For those of you who have never seen a 4D, don't worry about the bumps you see on Zions face. It's not really like that! The ultra sound doesn't show things in accurate detail.

That being said, check out some of these amazing baby pics! Don't you think this little guy has Greg's face?

Zion's Baby Room: Under Construction Part 2

Here are a few pics of Zion's room. Special thanks to my Dad, Uncle & Greg who gave up a lot of their free time to create this lovely room for my baby boy.

We used the widest baseboard we could find, we also used a medium size wall paneling with matching chair rail and crown molding.

Dad painted the vintage light fixture white (so far it's been grey and black) and installed a decorative light cap around the chandelier.

We still have to put the crib together and I need to design all the artwork for the walls. (I have BIG plans for that!) Curtains & baby bedding are next on my list of purchases. I may hold off on those items until after our trip to Italy- who knows, I may find the perfect baby bedding in Tuscany or New York City. But for now, I am content to dream about the wonderful memories that our son will have in his first room. What a wonderful place to be able to spend his first years!

Zions Room: Under Construction

My dad came last week from Massachusetts to help me re-do my home office into Zions baby room. The wall color is Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage. I love this color because of the way it changes in different lighting. In one day it can look green, grey, or blue. It's very tranquil and will be the perfect neutral backdrop for all my colorful artwork.

Here are a few before pictures:

Then, the construction began. Ripping up molding and putting down plastic!

Here's my dad; hard at work!

My Uncle Don even came over to lend a hand.

After they put up molding, then they started to paint!

Tomorrow, I'll post the room all finished!

Letting the cat out of the bag

We are very fortunate in that we get to work alongside some of the most amazing and fun people that we know. It's kind of like we are all family. So, we had to have a little fun telling everyone that we are having a little boy. Here are some pics from today:

We had everyone at the office vote which they thought it was going to be a boy or a girl.
Greg buying the baby blue balloons to bring out when we announced the big reveal.
Everyone feasted on cake!
